Improved summer performance with all-season tires

all-season tires

There are a few ways to improve the performance of your car during the summer.  Some of these include what you can do by ensuring that you have the best possible tires on your vehicle. Make sure that you have high-quality premium all-season tires. High-quality tires will have lower rolling resistance and higher tire wear; this will lead to substantial savings while you drive versus cheaper tires.

Make sure that the tires have sufficient tread depth. The grooves should have a depth of at least 5/32 inches to ensure that the tires can give you the necessary properties from the tires in terms of grip, braking distance, and safety. The risk for hydroplaning also increases with low tread depth.

The tire pressure should be checked during the summer, as the pressure will vary as the temperature changes. Wrong tire pressure will lead to worse performance of your car, as the tires will not have their optimal contact area.

Low tire pressure leads to higher rolling resistance, so that you will have increased tire wear and higher fuel consumption. This can therefore become quite expensive if you neglect to check it and adjust the pressure. Since it is pretty straightforward to check the tire pressure and you have the opportunity to check it every time you are at the gas station to fuel your car.

Ensure that you have the correct tires as per your driving conditions; special tires for off-road use, a high-speed rating for speedy cars, and cars that need to carry heavy loads. By matching the tires with your needs and the driving conditions will increase the performance of the car.

If you have winter conditions, then make sure that you don’t use your all-season tires, as you will not get any performance out of them, as you need to use winter tires or winter approved all-weather tires.

All these factors will add to the overall performance, so don’t neglect any of them.
